Guilds, plots, squares and votes

Interactive map

You can view the available plots for our first partner estate on the square selection application.

On this page you’ll have access to information about each parcel, such as planting year, altitude, grape variety, etc., which will help you choose your parcel and square.

Square

A square measures 12m2 and contains 12 vine stocks. It’s your square, and yours alone. You’re welcome to come and visit it and taste the grapes.

Plot

A parcel is a real, existing, historic plot of vineyard land. It can be delimited by natural features such as hills and streams, or arbitrarily.

Guild

A guild is made up of all the co-winemakers who own a square on the same plot.

There are as many guilds as there are plots.

Discussion platform

On the MyViny discussion platform, each guild has its own space where members can discuss. This is where you’ll find all the latest photos and news about your plot, as well as all the decisions concerning its management. Another area groups together co-winegrowers, the domain staff and MyViny staff. In this area, everyone can socialize together, regardless of guild.

Steering decisions

Throughout the campaign, every two months or so, the vineyard management will ask you what you’d like to decide about the viticulture and vinification of your plot.
Here are some examples of decisions to be made:

  • How high do you want to prune your vines?
  • In what type of container and for how long do you want to age your wine?

Your decisions will have an impact on

  • The production cost of your wine (you won’t pay more, the information is given as an indication)
  • The carbon footprint of your plot
  • The organoleptic score (the taste and flavor of your wine).

You are not obliged to vote. In this case, the decision will be taken according to the votes of the other co-winegrowers of your plot.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you choose a plot, are you choosing a grape variety as well?

Yes, usually each plot has its own grape variety. Different grape varieties can be found on two neighbouring plots.

How to choose my square ?

Take a look at the interactive map of our first partner domaine. You’ll find a wealth of information on each parcel, including altitude, planting year, grape variety, yield, etc.

Once you’ve registered with MyViny, you can enter your email address in the form and the square will be yours!

What is a MyViny guild?

When choosing a plot, and then a square of vines in that plot, you automatically become a member of that plot’s guild. The guild for this MyViny plot is the group represented by all users who have acquired a square within this plot.

How many votes do I get as a guild member?

Each vine square owned entitles you to one vote in the guild. So the more squares you have, the greater your influence within the guild. Use your votes wisely to make strategic decisions and contribute to the success of the MyViny plot.

During vinification, it is sometimes necessary to blend several grape varieties to make a wine. But a plot of land contains only one grape variety. How is this managed?

Create unique wines through guild collaboration!

The diversity of grape varieties is an essential part of the art of winemaking, and we have an exciting solution to achieve this despite the monocropping of individual plots. Here’s how it works:

Exchange between guilds: each guild has the opportunity to exchange wine with another guild. It’s a unique opportunity to collaborate with other wine enthusiasts and create exceptional blends.

Create unique blends: exchanging wines with other guilds gives you the freedom to create all possible blends to obtain unique and complex wines. It’s an exciting way to explore different combinations of grape varieties.

Ask the domaine: of course, you can also ask the domaine to supply another grape variety to enrich your winemaking experience. The winery is there to support your experiments and provide you with all the elements you need to create exceptional wines.

In this way, guild collaboration and wine exchange open up a world of opportunities to create unique wines, reflecting the diversity and richness of the wine community. Be creative and explore the infinite possibilities of the art of wine blending!

Can I blend with other grape varieties?

Yes, this would be the subject of a vote with your guild. If the other members of your guild also wish to exchange their juice with other guilds, then you can make your own blend.

Do I become the owner of my square of vines?

You become the custodian of your square of vines for the duration of the campaign. As if you were renting a square within the plot. Each square is physically marked with a small medallion, and as a member, you are responsible for its cultivation. However, given the difficulty of carrying out farming tasks on such a small area, actions cover the whole plot.

Decisions on plot management are taken by majority vote within the guild. Once decisions have been reached, the domaine team puts them into practice in the field. Therefore, although you are responsible for your own square of vines, collaboration within the guild is essential to the overall success of the MyViny plot.
